The Black Stars of Ghana need a single point to qualify for the 2024 African Cup of Nations.

The Ghana National Team is playing against the Central African Republic on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Some Ghanaians are of the view that the Head Coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton, has been partial in the selection of players for the team; however, Ghana will qualify at all costs.

The Ghana Black Stars will clash with the Central African Republic in their final group E game today at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Chris Hughton and his charges sit top of their group with nine points and will need a draw or a win to book their tickets for the tournament scheduled to be hosted in Ivory Coast.

Currently, the only unfortunate news in the camp is that youngster Joseph Paintsil has picked up an injury and has been flown back to Belgium to join his club team for medical care.

The Black Stars held a successful training session as they look to finish their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on a strong note.

However, some sections of Ghanaians have diverse views regarding the inclusion of Abdul Baba Rahman and Captain Dede Ayew in the squad.

GBC took to the streets of Accra to hear the views of the public. According to some Ghanaians, Baba Rahman and Captain Dede Ayew do deserve the call-up to the national team.

Other sections of Ghanaians also believe that Black Stars Head Coach Chris Hughton did well by adding Baba Rahman and Captain Dede Ayew to the team because “Rahman and Ayew are very experienced, and the new and young players can get some mentorship and motivation from them”.
