AFCON QUALIFIER: Black Stars winger Samuel Owusu likely to miss Ghana, Sudan clash

Al Ahli and Black Stars striker, Samuel Kwame Owusu suffered an injury after taking a knock during Black Stars second training session at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as the Black Stars fine tune preparations ahead of the upcoming AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Sudan.

Ghana is set to host Sudan in a Group C, today Thursday November 12, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium and travel to Sudan for a reverse fixture in five days.

The Black Stars delightful winger is poised for action and full of confidence as he seeks to score more goals for the country.

Owusu who has had successful club career season with Cukaricki Club of Serbia is hoping to add his name to the country’s heroes as he and his team mates are poised and living the dream of beyond the return fighting tooth and nail to bring the cup home to Ghana after 38 years of trophy drought.

The former Red Bull Academy player enjoyed some good football in the Africa’s most prestigious tournament AFCON in Egypt playing all of Ghana’s three games.

Joining in August 2017, Owusu scored seven (7) goals in thirty (30) appearances in his 2018-19 season which helped his club Cukaricki earn a place in UEFA championships after three (3) years before joining Al-fayha after the AFCON 2019.

Strikers/Forwards: Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew, Tariqe Fosu, Samuel Owusu, Caleb Ekuban, John Antwi.

Ghana will host Sudan on Thursday, November 12, in a match day three tie at the Cape Coast Stadium. The match scheduled for 16:00 GMT kick off will be live on GTV SPORTS+.
