The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, landed in Doha this morning ahead of the Black Stars’ Qatar 2022 World Cup opening game against Portugal.
The president, who left the shores of Ghana on Wednesday evening with a Qatar Airways flight, will be watching some of the matches before returning to Ghana, with the key match being Ghana’s game against Portugal at Stadium 974 on Thursday.
The first gentleman of the state and his entourage were received upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by the Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, H E Ibrahim bin Yousif Fakhro, and the Ambassador of Ghana to Qatar, Mohamed H.E. Noureddine Ismail.
His arrival is expected to boost the confidence of the team and help them achieve the necessary results in the game.
