Team Ghana were crawling on a medal count of 5 in the African Games before the arm wrestling took centre stage on Friday, March 15th, to change the narrative of Ghana’s medal count at the 13th African Games.
The arm wrestling team made a bold statement on the opening day of the arm wrestling event at the Cedi Conference Centre, University of Ghana. The team ran riot as they stood tall to accumulate some important medals for Ghana. Their strength, dedication, and courage were evident throughout the event.
A total of 21 medals were won by the arm wrestling team on day 1 of the arm wrestling event, pushing Ghana’s medal haul from 5 to 26 in just a blink of an eye. The team won 5 golds, 13 silvers, and 8 bronzes in a single day.
The final day of the arm wrestling event on Saturday, March 16, 2024, saw Ghana’s arm wrestling medal haul improve to a total of 41 medals as they won 8 gold, 19 silver, and 13 bronze to climax a remarkable showing. This result moves Ghana’s total medal count in the African Games to 46.
