English Premier League side, Arsenal has confirmed that Kai Havertz will be sidelined for the remainder of the season following a hamstring injury sustained during the team’s training camp in Dubai. The club announced that Havertz will undergo surgery to address the injury, which is expected to require an extended rehabilitation period that will carry into the pre-season for the 2025-26 campaign. This unfortunate news leaves manager Mikel Arteta without a recognized striker as the Gunners continue their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Havertz, who has emerged as Arsenal’s leading scorer in the league this season with nine goals, is a significant loss for the team. His absence is compounded by the fact that fellow striker Gabriel Jesus is also recovering from anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery, while Bukayo Saka remains out after undergoing surgery for his own hamstring issue in December. With these key players unavailable, Arsenal’s title challenge against league leaders Liverpool has become even more precarious.

Adding to Arteta’s challenges, Gabriel Martinelli has also picked up a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s EFL Cup defeat to Newcastle, reportedly sidelining him for at least a month. The timing of these injuries is particularly frustrating for the Gunners, as the January transfer window saw them fail to secure reinforcements for their attacking options. Arsenal’s attempts to sign players such as Ollie Watkins were unsuccessful, leaving Arteta disappointed at the lack of depth in his squad.

In an official statement, Arsenal confirmed the severity of Havertz’s injury, stating, “Subsequent assessments and specialist reviews have confirmed that the injury will require surgery, which will take place in the coming days.” The club emphasized their commitment to supporting Havertz throughout his recovery to ensure a swift return to full fitness. With the season winding down, the need for immediate solutions has become urgent for Arteta and his coaching staff.
