Berekum Chelsea eye Ghana Premier League title

Berekum Chelsea head coach Joseph Asare Bediako says his team is aiming for the Ghana Premier League title this season.

The Berekum outfit have been impressive this season recording big wins against Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold.

Chelsea are unbeaten in five matches played in the season and have amassed 13 points.

Their recent win in the competition came against AshantiGold at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Saturday in match day five.

Kofi Owusu scored the only goal of the game for Chelsea in that crucial encounter. It was Chelsea‘s first ever win at the Len Clay Sports Stadium against the Miners since their promotion into the top flight in 2006.

Speaking to the media after the game, Berekum Chelsea head coach said: “there is no secret to our winning but the determination and discipline of our players. They listen to whatever we tell them and they do it to perfection.”

“We know Ashantigold is a big club. We watched them against legon cities so we mapped a strategy to beat them.”

“Every team wants to win the league and that is our ambition as well,” he concluded.

AshantiGold coach Yakubu Sherrif Mambo also blamed his team’s defeat to over confidence.

“It was not a matter of fatigue. Our players were over confident in this game.”

“We played well in this game. Over confidence let us down,” he said during the post-match interview.
