Ghana’s Amputee football team, the Black Challenge, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, secured a place in the Amputee African Cup of Nations (AAFCON) finals after beating Algeria by 3-0 in their semi-final match.
The Black Challenge has been in good shape since the tournament started, as they walked over their opponents in the competition in some remarkable fashion, earning them a well-deserved ticket into the final of the prestigious Amputee African Cup of Nations.
Ghana opened the scores in the 4th minute through a thrilling goal from Yussif Yahaya, who made sure his side started on a good note as they built on their confidence and momentum gradually as the game progressed.
The defending champions weren’t showing any sign of slowing down as they added a second through a brilliant finish from Mubarak Mohammed in the 36th minute of play, leaving the North African side frustrated as they struggled to make an impact in the game.
Mubarak Mohammed wasn’t quitting anytime soon, as he added his second and Ghana’s third in the 48th minute, earning him the man of the match award after a stunning performance. After putting up a clean run to square up a mouthwatering final against Morocco, Ghana will be looking at defending their trophy.
The Black Challenge have also secured qualification for the 2026 World Amputee Football World Cup in Panama.
