Ghanaians are eager to hear from President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku following the abysmal performance of the Black Stars in the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, sacking and hiring of a new coach for the senior national team and the state of the Ghana Premier League.

His appearance on GTV Sports+ historic episode of “Our Passion Our Game” on Thursday night (February 10, 2022), presents a fine opportunity to break his silence of the tug of war between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the FA prior to the sacking of Black Stars Coach Milovan Rajevac among others.

Ahead of his appearance on the show, social media has been awash with “tough” questions directed at the FA President for some answers.

A user on the Sports Writers Association, SWAG-GIJ whatsapp group wrote “Ask him… His main campaign message was he was going to get GPL a headline sponsor in quest to make the league attractive and bring back the love. What changed, he seems to have lost focus due to black stars’ interest?

Another social media user wants to know “when the ruling for the match fixing scandal will be out because prior to the start of the season he (Kurt Okraku) said the verdict will be out before the season commences”

Kenetey also wants to know ” why they didn’t give the GPL TV rights to GTV Sports Plus”.

Black Stars’ expectations

Meanwhile, GBC News has been speaking to a cross-section of Ghanaians on their expectation issues they want addressed by Mr Okraku on Thursday night. One of such persons is Tina, who says, “I want him to address the allegations made during the AFCON especially on player call ups, unavailability of players and what happened in the camp concerning claims of juju and all that. He should also talk about the situation with the head Coach”.

Another individual who wants to remain anonymous said ” we heard the Communications Director of the FA talk about the Black Stars being given and we heard the players lodged in a hotel with a night club and all that. There are so many issues that need to be addressed if they want us to believe in the Black Stars again”.
