The four-time African champions, the Black Stars, seeking a triumphant tournament, have made a grand arrival in Abidjan, adorned in colorful Kente, as they prepare for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The team left Accra on Wednesday morning and reached Abidjan later that same day.

Wearing distinctive home-made Kente in various colors, the Black Stars players arrived in Abidjan, proudly showcasing the rich cultural heritage of their country.

Upon touching down at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport, the players were met with warm welcomes and enthusiastic cheers from Ghanaian supporters who had gathered to express their unwavering support.

The arrival of the Black Stars marks the start of a journey filled with expectations, challenges, and the pursuit of victory.

As the 1982 African champions, they aspire to end their 42-year title drought in Ivory Coast, with the memory of their last three final losses to neighboring teams lingering.

The Black Stars will be stationed in Abidjan for their group-stage matches, where they will face seven-time champions Egypt, along with Cape Verde and Mozambique.

Their first challenge awaits them on Sunday, as they go head-to-head with Cape Verde, setting the tone for their AFCON 2023 campaign.
