The Black Stars of Ghana, coming off a disappointing showing against Cape Verde in their first group game, will be taking on seven-time champions Egypt on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in order to cement their chances of qualifying for the knockout stage.

Fans were very optimistic about the Black Stars beating Cape Verde in their opening game but were disappointed by the outcome, a 2-1 loss to the Stars.

Some fans are optimistic about a turnaround. Others think otherwise. Bediako is skeptical.

“I don’t think Ghana is going to win the next match with Egypt because of our poor performance in our first game. Our team is nowhere near the Egyptian team, and our best is going to be a draw, but if Ghana wins, then it is fine, but we should be expecting draw,” he explained.

In an interview, Amissah said it is going to be a tough game for the Black Stars, but they will need to rise to the occasion.

“The reality is that their standards are poor and have fallen drastically,” he added.

Evans also highlighted that he is not really banging hopes on the game but just expecting a normal game.

“From what we saw in our last match, they didn’t give out their best performances that we used to know, but with a little concentration and determination, I think we can do well.” Chris Hughton also needs to get his tactics on point, be bold, and make certain decisions, and I think we can win our next match with Egypt.”

Kuzo Prosper also added, “tactics, attacking, and movement weren’t so good in our last game, but let’s hope for the best in our next match with Egypt.
