The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the date for the final draw of the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Cairo.

Participating teams include host nation Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Morocco, holders Senegal, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, DR Congo, and Central Africa.

Former Mali international Adama Coulibaly and ex-Senegal star Souleymane Camara have been appointed as draw assistants, bringing their extensive experience and insight to the event. Their involvement not only adds prestige to the draw but also excites fans who remember their impactful contributions to African football.

The Under-20 AFCON is set to take place from 26 April to 18 May, 2025, in Côte d’Ivoire. This tournament serves as a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and aspirations on an international stage. The competition is particularly critical as it offers a pathway for the top four teams to qualify for the 2025 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, which will be held in Chile later that year, from 27 September to 19 October.

With the tournament approaching, national teams are ramping up their preparations to compete for continental glory.

Coaches and players are focused on fine-tuning their strategies and building team chemistry, knowing that the Under-20 AFCON can be a launching pad for future professional careers.
