Ghana’s Head Coach, Chris Hughton, has indicated that his team is disappointed after the draw with Egypt, just like every Ghanaian.

Facing questions about his decision to substitute Osman Bukari after his error leading to the equaliser, Coach Hughton stressed that the decision was not based on a lack of appreciation for his character and commitment but was a tactical one.

Ghana’s Head Coach, Chris Hughton urged Ghanaians to focus on the next match with Mozambique. He predicts a win for Ghana.

Meanwhile, Black Stars Midfielder Mohammed Kudus has shared his disappointment after Ghana’s 2-2 draw against Egypt in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The West Ham attacker, who had been struggling with a lingering injury leading to his absence in their first game against Cape Verde, returned to action with an impressive performance against the record holders.

The 23-year-old wasted no time in announcing his presence on the continental stage as he smashed home a stunning strike just before half-time to give Ghana the lead. However, defensive lapses meant Kudus had to try again when Egypt equalised.

He did and succeeded in getting Ghana back into the lead, only for another error to deny Ghana all three points, settling for a draw. Kudus pointed out the avoidable errors which cost the Black Stars in a game that almost looked like a win.  He said they made careless mistakes, adding that they must win the next game at all cost.

The Black Stars will play Mozambique in their final group game on Monday, January 22, 2024.
