Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has revealed that he is still “far away” from agreeing to a new contract with the club.

The 32-year-old winger’s current deal ends this season, allowing him to negotiate with clubs outside England from January 1 for a potential free transfer in the summer.

Salah, who scored his 20th goal of the season in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over West Ham on Sunday, emphasised that his focus remains on helping Liverpool win the Premier League title.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Salah said, “No, we are far away from that [contract] and I don’t want to put anything in the media. The only thing on my mind is I want Liverpool to win the league, and I want to be part of that.”

He added, “I will do my best for the team to win the trophy. There are a few other teams catching up with us, and we need to stay focused and humble.”

Liverpool currently lead the Premier League table by eight points, with Salah playing a key role in their title challenge this season.
