Black Stars’ Midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah has presented a cheque valued GH¢ 20,000.00 to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi to support the fight against COVID-19.
The father of the Kwadwo Asamoah, Mr Emmanuel Akwasi Asamoah, who presented the cheque on behalf of the player, said it was his son’s widow’s mite to help combat the virus in the country.
He said the player was very much concern about the reported cases of people infected with the virus and called on Ghanaians to adhere to the prevention protocols and restrictive measures to protect themselves.
The Chief Executive of KATH Dr Oheneba Owusu-Danso, thanked the player for the gesture.
He said the money had come at an opportune time since the facility needed a number of equipment and consumables to treat not only coronavirus patients, but others who needed immediate care and attention.
Dr Owusu-Danso appealed to other individuals and organizations to emulate the example of the player and come to assist the facility to provide quality health care services to the people.
