Former FIFA Marketing Consultant, Neil Armstrong says Ghana’s League will become important if stakeholders deliberately decide to create an attractive brand.

“If you don’t deliberately and intentionally decide that we are going to create a brand, we are going to create an image of football that is attractive, that attracts, there is no way anyone is going to mind you”.

The FIFA Market Consultant said he had attended insightful meetings that were fruitful, but no actions were taken.

“When we have all these insightful conversations ,what happens, what actions evolve out of the conversation because some of us have said quite a number of these things. I started talking about them 20-years ago”.

He said “if our deeds go contrary to what we profess, then we really are not keen on where we want to go”.

Saving Our Passion Panelist

Taking his turn during the GTV Sports+ “Saving our passion” on March 3rd, 2020, he added that the league is unable to get sponsors because of the behaviors of some stakeholders in the industry.

“I am in several media platforms; the things people say openly and I say so you are saying all these things and you say we should go and get sponsorship and you start chasing GFA President. Meanwhile on the platform, things you are discussing, things that you are endorsing , they will never get you sponsorship.

He said these practices will be solved if those with some high level of control decide that the practices will make the league unattractive to the public.
