Former Brazilian football star Daniel Alves has been released from prison after paying €1 million in bail following his conviction for sexually assaulting a young Spanish lady. In February 2024, Alves was pronounced guilty for raping a young lady at a nightclub in December 2022 and was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

This news came as a shock to many of the football enthusiasts, especially his followers, as they were left disappointed with his behaviour and actions, which may contribute to damaging his well-built reputation and career.

Alves initially denied the allegations when they first emerged during the trial, as he boldly stated that he did nothing like that, and he also said, “I am not the kind of man.” The right back is forbidden to go close to the victim or try to communicate with her. Alves will also be tasked with making weekly check-ins at the courthouse.

The court has previously ordered the Brazilian to pay compensation of €150,000 (£128,000) to the victim, as he is also forbidden from leaving Spain.

In the bail agreement granted to Daniel Alves, he will be tasked with being at the courthouse every Friday and also on any random occasion when he is needed. His phone number will also be given a keen follow, as he is ordered to have it available every time.
