Paa Kwesi Nduom, owner and financier of Elmina Sharks Football Club, has publicly condemned the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for allegedly misappropriating FIFA funds while neglecting the needs of clubs and players. In a Facebook post dated February 3, 2025, he called for a significant overhaul of the GFA, accusing its leaders of profiting from FIFA money at the expense of the football community.

Nduom expressed his frustration over the ongoing issues in Ghanaian football, questioning, “What are we waiting for? More deaths, bankruptcies, and Black Stars losses?” His comments follow the tragic death of Francis Yaw Frimpong, a dedicated supporter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who was killed during a match on February 2, 2025. This incident has further highlighted the persistent violence and financial struggles within Ghana’s football leagues.

In response to Frimpong’s death, both the GFA and the Ghana Police Service have initiated investigations. Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko has suspended all football-related activities until justice is served for their fallen fan. Nduom’s remarks underscore a growing concern that Ghana’s football leagues no longer provide legitimate entertainment for fans.
