Errol Musk, father of the world’s richest person, Elon Musk has confirmed that his son is interested in buying Liverpool Football Club. The Musk family has historical ties to the city of Liverpool, with Elon’s grandmother and relatives having lived there. Additionally, Elon Musk has friendships with members of the legendary rock band, The Beatles, further solidifying his connection to the city.
According to Errol Musk, while Elon is indeed interested in acquiring Liverpool FC, he is not currently in the process of doing so. This news comes as Liverpool’s current owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), have been seeking outside investment since late 2022. A full sale of the club could potentially value Liverpool at £5-6 billion, a relatively small fraction of Elon Musk’s vast wealth, estimated to be around £330 billion.
Liverpool FC has experienced significant growth and success under FSG’s ownership since 2010. The club has invested heavily in its squad and infrastructure, leading to numerous accolades, including the UEFA Champions League title in 2019. However, with FSG seeking new investment, the possibility of a change in ownership has sparked interest among fans and observers.
Elon Musk’s potential acquisition of Liverpool FC would undoubtedly be a major development in the world of football. As the world’s richest individual, Musk’s resources and influence could potentially bring about significant changes to the club. However, it remains to be seen whether Musk’s interest will materialise into a concrete bid for the club.
For now, Liverpool FC fans will be watching with bated breath as the situation unfolds. While Errol Musk’s comments have sparked excitement and speculation, only time will tell if Elon Musk’s interest in buying the club will become a reality.
