Football is gradually taking a different turn as another colour of card is possibly slotting into the company of the two notable red and yellow cards. The blue card is said to be introduced into football very soon for sin-bins.

However, FIFA has already taken its position to brush aside the idea of introducing a blue card into top-level football games, stating that the trail should be taken to the lower level of football as it is “incorrect and premature.”

The rule surrounding the controversial blue card states that any player who is found guilty of cynical fouls or dissent will immediately be sent off for 10 minutes. This means players are always required to keep their calm and not go at the referee for a foul against them.

Any player who manages to accumulate two blue cards in a match will automatically be shown the door, as he or she will receive a straight red afterward. This rule applies similarly to the yellow card rule.

On the flip side, if a player receives both blue and yellow cards, they get sent off by receiving a red card. The blue card comes in to tackle dissent, but it seems it will be doing more than that as it takes some similarity with the yellow card rule.
