In a significant milestone, Mr. Winston Yeboah Danso, the founder of East Legon Football Academy, has been celebrated for his pivotal role in developing young football talent in Ghana. He received this prestigious recognition at the 8th Annual Forty Under Forty Awards, held in the Sports and Development category. Founded in 2019 with the vision of early talent cultivation, East Legon Football Academy has become a beacon for aspiring athletes.
Mr. Danso’s commitment to rigorous training, mentorship, and comprehensive education has created a pathway for young players to succeed both on and off the field. His dedication has been acknowledged through this honour, highlighting the growing role of sports in youth development within Ghana. Under Mr. Danso’s leadership, the academy offers a structured environment where emerging footballers can thrive.
By integrating professional training with mentorship and personal development, the academy ensures that its players receive not only football expertise but also academic and athletic scholarships, and access to essential resources such as kits and soccer pitches. Mr. Danso emphasized the potential for further progress in Ghana’s sports sector with increased investment. “I dedicate this award to my staff, the parents, and the players of the academy,” he said.
He also extended special thanks to Former President Kufuor for his support and to Mr. Cyril Yeboah Danso of Yehans International for his mentorship and valuable insights.
