Some of the latest crops of Football Journalists in Ghana have been sharing their views about the GAME, ”Saving Our Passion”, which debuted on the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s GTV Sports + Channel following the abysmal performance of the Black Stars in the just ended African Cup of Nations, AFCON in Cameroon.

The goal is to dissect the concerns and find ways to awaken interest in Ghana Football.

The Discussants agreed that it is time to be very sincere about the challenges that are confronting Football in Ghana. These include lack of investment, corruption, but above all structural concerns.

Clearly, the problems are peculiar to Ghana, and Ghana needs to adopt clear pragmatic and sincere mechanisms and strategies to tackle the issues.

Often it has been a talk shop after Football Matches and then back to square one, ”everyone forgets and goes to sleep’, the Journalists asserted.

They seem to share one passion for Ghana Football, the hope to see a revived Black Stars, but, collectively believe that the authorities and managers of Ghana football must put the shoulders to the wheels, be sincere about the fact that ”this is one of the worst times in Ghana’s football” trajectory.

The Discussants are; Nathan Quao, Head of Research and a Broadcast Journalist with Citi FM/ Citi TV, Gary Al-Smith, Sports Journalist with Multi Media Group, Jerome Otchere, Former Editor, Kotoko Express, presently, a Freelance Journalist and Saddick Adams, Sports Journalist with Angel Broadcasting Services and Sports Writers Association of Ghana, SWAG Journalist of the year 2021. It was hosted by Veteran Sports Journalist Karl Tuffour.
