Former chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamaklo has praised former president of Ghana J.A Kuffuor for his non-interfering roles he played during his reign as the leader of the Ghana Football Association.
There has been a perceived interference from political heads in the running of the Ghana FA with regards to who leads the association, the coaches to be appointed for the senior national teams especially the Black Stars.
Dr Nyaho-Tamaklo who was the leader of the country’s football governing body spent one year in office from 2004 to 2005 where he voluntarily resigned.
Speaking on GTV Sports+ program dubbed #SavingOurPassion, the Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak applauded ex-president Kuffuor for not intruding in the affairs of the Ghana Football Association despite being appointed by him.
“I wanted to play football with football people for the development of the game when I was appointed as the chairman of the GFA until I realized that I was mostly surrounded by wolves. As strict as I am, I insisted on how I wanted to run the football association and president Kuffuor never interfered in my administration”.
The resignation of Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamaklo ushered in Kwesi Nyantakyi through elections where he ruled for 13yrs until his ban from FIFA in 2018.
