The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, has partnered with DSTV to broadcast the 2022 World Cup Tournament which begins on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
Acting Director of Television at GBC, Mr George Lomotey, said four GBC Channels, with GTV Sport+ as the lead, will broadcast the World Cup Tournament along with 18 of GBC’s radio stations across the country will broadcast all 64 Tournaments.
Speaking on the Breakfast Show, Mr. Lomotey noted that all private persons and media organizations should contact the GBC for Licence in order to show the Tournament to a larger audience.
”GBC would put up a giant screening at the Zoy Gardens at the premises of the GBC which will be free to the public”, Mr. Lomotey disclosed.
Head of Corporate Affairs, MultiChoice Ghana Mr Nii Amah Dagadu, noted the company would be monitoring persons who abuse their domestic usage of MultiChoice services for commercial purposes.
“Commercial entities must contact DSTV to gain the right to show the match in a normal setting”, he advised.
Mr. Dagadu also stated that for those who are not able to gain access to a television set, they can download and subscribe to the DSTV app on their smartphones to which they have the option to listen to commentary in seven different languages including English, Twi, French and more.
