The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has announced that Dr. Randy Abbey is now part of the Black Stars Management Committee.
This change comes after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), finishing last in Group F with only three points.
Asante Twum explained that the decision is part of a review process following the team’s poor performance, including their early exit from the 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast—their second straight group-stage elimination.
He confirmed this in an interview with Asempa FM, saying, “Randy Abbey has joined the Black Stars Management Committee.” He added that the FA decided to keep Mark Addo and Akwesi Agyeman on the committee and bring in Randy Abbey.
Mark Addo remains the Chairman of the Management Committee, while Dr. Randy Abbey, who is also a GFA Executive Council member, continues to lead the Black Satellites Management Committee.
