Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kurt Okraku, has expressed his enthusiasm for the newly appointed Management Committee for the Black Stars. This committee, comprising notable figures such as Dr. Randy Abbey, Stephen Appiah, Moses Armah, Samuel Aboabire, and Richard Nsenkyire, is set to play a crucial role in overseeing the administrative and logistical functions of the national team.
Okraku emphasised the committee’s dedication and passion for Ghana football, hinting at a promising future for the Black Stars.
“We are excited to announce the formation of this new Management Committee, which brings together a team of experienced and dedicated individuals who are passionate about Ghana football. We are confident that they will work tirelessly to support the Black Stars and ensure their success,” Mr Okraku said.
Dr. Randy Abbey, an influential member of the GFA Executive Council, will take the helm as the committee’s chair. His leadership will be pivotal in fostering relationships with the government and other key stakeholders in Ghana football. Meanwhile, Stephen Appiah, a revered former captain of the Black Stars, will serve as Vice-Chairman, focusing on enhancing player relations. The combination of their experience and commitment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the management of the national team.
The operational aspects of the committee will be managed by Samuel Aboabire and Moses Armah, who will ensure that matchday activities run smoothly and that the interests of sponsors and partners are well taken care of. Their roles are critical in maintaining the operational integrity of the Black Stars, especially as they prepare for upcoming qualifiers. The committee’s structure reflects a strategic approach to addressing the challenges faced by the team in recent competitions.
Richard Nsenkyire, the current president of FC Samartex 1996, will take on special duties within the committee. His involvement is anticipated to bring additional expertise and insight, particularly in navigating the competitive landscape of Ghanaian football. This restructuring of the management team is a clear indication of the GFA’s commitment to revitalising the Black Stars and ensuring they are well-prepared for future challenges.
The formation of this new Management Committee comes at a crucial time as the Black Stars gear up for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Following a disappointing performance in the recent AFCON qualifying campaign, the team is determined to improve its standing ahead of vital matches against Chad and Madagascar in March.
