Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Kudjoe Fianoo says they are waiting for the Ministry of Youth and Sports to furnish them with dates for the replay of the rained off President’s cup match in Kumasi.
Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) are the organisers of the president’s cup.
“We wrote to Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak last week to meet on the new date for the replay of the president cup and they honoured our invitation last Monday.” Kudjoe Fianoo said
”We proposed the 15th of December 2019 to them but there was a counter date of 24th December night but the restriction from playing Kotoko and Hearts games on a night and other factors that may affect attendance quashed the later date.” he added
“The leadership of the GFA also proposed the 22nd of December to serve as the opening game to the new season.”
“We had to go back to the Minister for youth and sports to brief him about the new developments. We have presented the two dates to the ministry for youth and sports and awaiting responds from them latest by Friday but what we are certain about is the venue for the game which is the Accra sports stadium,its the confirmed venue for the game.” He concluded.
This year’s edition of the annual President’s cup was rained-off at the Baba Yara stadium between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak on September 8, 2019.
