Ghana is set to participate in the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations after an enterprising 6-2 second leg away from home win against Côte d’Ivoire on Friday, February 9th, 2024.

Team Ghana produced a spirited comeback to pip their Ivorian counterparts 6-2 in the second encounter away to pick a qualification ticket after succumbing to a 4-0 loss in the first leg played in Cape Coast.

On aggregate, Ghana qualified via the away goal rule despite the scoreline being tied at 6-6 over two legs.

Ghana will play in next year’s Futsal AFCON, to be staged in Morocco from April 8th–17th, 2024. This is a momentous feat chalked by Ghana, who are back to the continent’s showpiece for the first time in 28 years after losing to Egypt in the grand finale in 1996.

The top 3 nations that finish first, second, and third, respectively, at the end of the tournament will represent Africa at the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan.
