Africa champions Keta Sunset were defeated by Havedzi Mighty Warriors on Sunday in Aborigines Beach in Keta to qualify for the finals of the CAL Bank beach soccer super league.

Havedzi made qualification difficult for the Copa Lagos champions after excruciating 2-1 defeat in the opening game before adding Ada Assurance and Iron breakers to their list of victims to accumulate 8points to top the table which guaranteed them a place in the finals.

With qualification slot virtually eluding the tournament’s favourite, Keta Sunset rallied from their opening defeat to grab a 4-2 win against Ada Assurance before captain Michael Sema’s hatrick ensured they pick a 5-1 win in the final game to put a seal on their advancement into the finals.

Keta Sunset will be joined by Havedzi Mighty Warriors as they mount a strong defense of Volta regional pride when the grands begins in Cape Coast.

The keenly contested competition produced Michael Sema (Keta Sunset),Wise Nyamadzi and Jude Asante as top scorers after netting 4 goals each in the tournament. Meanwhile, Robert Nyadedzor of Havedzi Mighty Warriors was adjudged the best goalkeeper before his compatriot Alfred Tosu running away with player of the tournament award.
