Light Heavyweight Champion, Seth Gyimah, known in the sports industry as Freezy Mac bones, has mentioned that he ventured into the sports of boxing at the age of twenty seven after leaving the shores of Ghana to the United Kingdom in 2012.
The boxer who has become an internet sensation after his knockout victory over Darryl Sharp mentioned that he started fighting in 2017 as an amateur boxer winning all fights through knockouts. He recounted how he got criticized by people that his age for commencing boxing is a bad idea so he should just quit and focus on his restaurant porter and cleaning hustle.
According to him his knockout videos shared by legends like Mayweather got him interviews with big sports media in the United Kingdom such as The Sun Sports and Sky Sports respectively and that gave him the nickname “British Mike Tyson”.
The new Light Heavyweight Champion mentioned that the criticisms that came never demoralized him but rather motivated him to do more, hence the victory over Darryl Sharp at the Copper Box Arena in London.
After 18 amateur fights and two professional fights, the 33 year old Ghanaian boxer and Chef, also mentioned in the interview with Kafui Dey that he takes his inspiration from his roots and his family to keep his drive hard and going. He further added that, he trains three times daily to keep him fit and was ever ready for any fight his management.
