Ghanaian and Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams has officially been named the Best African Player in the Spanish La Liga for the 2023–2024 season, capping off an impressive season with the “Lions of San Mames”.
Inaki has been in scintillating form for Bilbao in all competitions, as his numbers have hit heights in this season’s campaign, leading his side to secure a much-deserved European spot as they finished 5th in the Spanish league with a game to spare.
The Ghanaian also played an integral part in his team’s wonderful run in the Copa del Rey, as they won their first title in over 40 years of waiting for silverware. The 29-year-old has always shown up when it comes to big games, as he continued to deliver on a regular basis when called upon.
Inaki Williams, rolling on an unforgettable season, has managed to score 12 goals in the Spanish La Liga and two crucial goals in the Copa del Rey, providing two assists to go along with his impressive scoring record for “the Lions of San Mames.” This remarkable exploit has seen him move up to join the top 20 goal scorers at Atletic Bilbao.
After an industrious season with his club side, Inaki Williams will be expected to return to the Black Stars ahead of June’s World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic, as Ghana’s hope is to see him replicate that same form with the national shirt.
