The Director of Marketing at the Ghana Football Association, Jamil Maraby has called on sports loving Ghanaians to show much love for local football.
According to the versatile football administrator, the timing is right for us as Ghanaians to show and give more support for Ghana football and make it very attractive to the outside world.
In an interview with Ghana’s premium and most authoritative sports broadcast channel GTV sports + during the historic BATTLE OF THE STARS, he noted that if football fans in Ghana can promote the Ghana league and watch it like how the watch the foreign leagues, Ghana football will rise to where it truly belongs, which is, the top.
“I believe that it’s time to love your own product your own football and stop focusing too much on the EPL and stuff off course we all have our EPL clubs but I think we should encourage our domestic leagues first, you know if you are an Accra Hearts of Oak supporter and you accept that for some time now they have not been on top then this is the time to come back and support your club show your love and your second team can be in the EPL or anywhere, “he said.
The ‘Battle of the Stars’ match which was held at the Nduom Sports Complex in Elmina ended 3-4 in favor of the Greater Accra PFAG as they came from behind to record a slim victory.
The game was loved by many in the Central Region including, Ghana Tourism CEO Akwasi Agyeman and the Chief of Elmina Nana Kojo Konduah VI.
