Each player in Côte d’Ivoire’s squad will receive a cash prize reward of $82,000 and a villa worth a similar amount from their president, Alassane Ouattara, the Presidency has announced. The three-time champions earned this reward on the back of their victory over Nigeria in the AFCON final.

Côte d’Ivoire brought joy and pride to their citizens as they stood up to the pressure presented to them with some determined display, coming off from nearly getting knocked out of the tournament to gradually pushing through to the end.

The President of Côte d’Ivoire, of course, couldn’t hide his excitement as he congratulated the heroes of the Africa Cup of Nations. “You have brought happiness to all Ivorians; bravo, bravo,” said President Alassane Ouattara.

The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations recorded the highest view since its 67 years of productive football on the African continent. The publicity, commercial deals, and social media wing reached over two billion people.

With this significant milestone, football enthusiasts and analysts of the game hope that the 34th edition of the AFCON will open numerous doors to new initiatives moving forward.
