Kevin-Prince Boateng’s home was burgled while he was playing for Barcelona against Real Valladolid on Saturday night.
The criminals took over £260,000 worth of possessions, including jewellery and cash, during the La Liga clash, according to Spanish reports.
Boateng, who made his home league debut for Barcelona in the 1-0 victory, lives in Sarria, close to the Spanish city. Police are investigating the incident.
The 31-year-old sealed a surprise loan move to the Spanish champions from Italian side Sassuolo during the January transfer window.
Barca paid Sassuolo £1.8million to take Boateng on loan for the rest of the season. They can make the move permanent by paying a further £7m this summer.
After making his debut for the club when they were beaten 2-0 by Sevilla in the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals, Boateng played 60 minutes on Saturday.
Ernesto Valverde rested Luis Suarez with Boateng taking his place as the centre forward but with half an hour remaining Suarez replaced the loanee.
Last summer Barcelona defender Gerard Pique confirmed to the King of Spain Felipe VI that his home in Barcelona was burgled while he was watching his long-term partner Shakira in concert in Germany.
He explained that the robbery took place overnight with his parents at his home in the town of Esplugues de Llobregat, five miles outside of Barcelona.
