English-born Ghanaian Kobbie Mainoo has been cracking down some numbers with some good performances for Manchester United in the Premier League.

The young talent, who is a graduate of the United Academy, has got a handful of football fans both in Ghana and England talking.

His talent has no doubt made him a hot target, as the Ghana Football Association has started putting things in place to convince the 18-year-old to join the national team. Kobbie Mainoo currently holds his nationality to England, where he has already made some caps for the English youth team.

The intention of the GFA to grab the young talent was revealed by Dr. Randy Abbey, who is an Executive Council member of the GFA. He admitted that the young talent is in the books of the Ghana Football Association.

“The Ghana Football Association is interested in monitoring, attracting, and persuading all eligible talents for its various national teams. Kobbie is definitely one of such incredible talents, and the Association will love to work with him and many like him at home and abroad,” Dr. Randy Abbey told The Times UK.

Kobbie Mainoo since the beginning of the 2023/2024 Premier League campaign showed some glimpses of his ability in pre-season for United, but he eventually got hit by injury, which slowed his progress in the early stages of the season.

The young chap has made 12 appearances for the first team this season. His highlight of the season came when he scored the winning goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers to secure a 4-3 victory for his side in the Premier League.
