Premier League: Gold Stars give Asante Kotoko a showdown in Bibiani

Bibiani Gold Stars saw off Asante Kotoko in a dramatic 2-1 victory at Duns Park in the betPawa Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Prince Owusu Kwabena’s last-gasp winner was enough to seal the victory for the Gold Stars after Mohammed Sherif cancelled out Eric Bosomtwi’s goal.

The Porcupine Warriors were matched boot for boot under an intense atmosphere with lots of chants from the miners, forcing an incredible performance from both sides until the end of the first half.

Bibiani Gold Stars maintained their composure, halting the dangerous attacks from the Porcupine Warriors. They scored a goal that was in contention, but it was disallowed before the break.

The second half of the game saw lots of fireworks from both sides, with Prince Owusu Kwabena breaking the game’s tie in the 65th minute. Asante Kotoko managed to tie the game through Sherif Mohammed, but the Gold Stars didn’t lose their guard as they fought back to reclaim their lead through Eric Bosomtwi in the 74th minute.

Bibiani Gold Stars managed the game and clinched the three maximum points, extending Asante Kotoko’s winless run to two in the betPawa Premier League.
