Kumasi Asante Kotoko made it two consecutive wins this weekend as they trekked to the Red Bull Arena to record a remarkable come-from-behind 3-1 win over Legon Cities, with goals from Stephen Mukwala Dasi, Isaac Oppong and an own goal from Mohammed Suleman.
Hearts of Oak also fumbled at home on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium. The draw result pushes the Phobians to the 6th position on 16 points, which is the same number of points (16) as Bechem United, Bofoakwa Tano, and Asante Kotoko, who sit in the 7th, 8th, and 9th positions, respectively.
Samartex 1996 now occupy the 3rd position after a 2-1 win at the Nana Nsenkyire Sports Complex over Real Tamale United, who beat Dreams FC 3-1 last weekend at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.
Nsoatreman and Kpando Heart of Lions drew blank at Nana Koaramansah Park. Despite the draw, Maxwell Konadu’s side still have a firm grip on the second position, tied for the same number of points (21) with the 1st-placed Aduana Stars, who lost 1-0 to Accra Lions at Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.
Elsewhere, Abrankese-based Nations FC climb above 6th-positioned Hearts of Oak to the 4th position on 17 points, which is a slim point advantage after beating Karela United 1-0 at the Dr.Kwame Kyei Complex.
Match week 12 continues today with Bechem United hosting Bibiani Gold Stars at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park. Medeama SC and Dreams FC’s week 12 games against Tano Bofoakwa and the Great Olympics have been rescheduled to a yet-to-be confirmed date following the participation of Medeama and Dreams in the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup, respectively.
