Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has gained huge attention and praise from Ghanaians following his master-class performance from the just-ended super clash game on Sunday 10th December 2023 against Accra Hearts of Oak.
The midfielder has been formidable in the middle for Kotoko establishing his signature passes that have eventually caught the eyes of football enthusiasts and some renowned sports journalists.
Richmond Lamptey’s run of form has got fans tipping him to be part of the Black Stars squad for next year’s Afcon in Ivory Coast. With former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko legend, Charles Taylor and Legendary Kwabena Yeboah leading the praise to make it happen.
“I’ve heard calls for my inclusion in the Black Stars call-up. But as a professional player, these things shouldn’t get into your head but rather should encourage you to work harder so you bring out your best. I won’t be swollen-headed, but I will keep working hard” – said Richmond Lamptey
The Black Stars squad announcement is expected to be released at the end of this month(December) for the 2024 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
