Ghana Midfielder Mohammed Kudus has expressed disappointment in the performance of the Black Stars after they drew 2-2 against Mozambique on Tuesday night in the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Kudus said it was a failure that the team needs to learn from moving forward.

“We want to qualify for the next round, but we couldn’t. It’s a failure, we need to learn from this and move on. It’s a very big disappointment,” Kudus said.

Kudus was impressive in the game and was named man of the match, this is his second man of the match in the two games he featured in his debut AFCON.

Ghana suffered a late comeback from Mozambique. They scored two quick goals within 4 minutes from the 6 minutes of added time when Ghana was leading 0-2.

The draw has overshadowed Ghana’s efforts to secure a win, finishing 3rd in Group B with 2 points.

The Black Stars have a slim chance of securing a spot in the last 16.

The team will now wait for the conclusion of matches to determine whether they will be among the four best third-place finishers to secure a place in the knockout stage.
