After an impressive campaign with Arsenal and Ajax/Westham, Black Stars duo Thomas Partey and Kudus Mohammed have been named in the 2023 CAF team of the year for their impact in qualifying Ghana for the 2022 World Cup.

Partey had an amazing campaign with Arsenal, playing a vital role in their charge to return to the Champions League after six years out of the prestigious competition.

He played most of the games as Arsenal’s shield in the middle, cutting out passes and making vital interceptions to help his team.

A highlight of Partey’s national team’s best last year was when he scored the vital goal in Abuja to qualify the Black Stars for their 4th World Cup. Partey has become a household name both in Ghana and Africa, but unfortunately, injuries haven’t been fair to him.

Mohammed Kudus made the magic number by joining Partey in the 2023 CAF team of the year. The Nima boy had a good season with Ajax last season before moving to East London to join West Ham. Kudus also made his first World Cup appearance with Ghana last year in Qatar. He won the hearts of the fans by scoring two goals in three games.
