Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo, has announced his intention to initiate legal action and spearhead an impeachment process against the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku.

This announcement comes amidst growing dissatisfaction with the GFA’s management, particularly concerning the national teams’ lacklustre performances on the international stage.

Fianoo has been vocal about his concerns regarding the GFA’s operations, attributing the national teams’ struggles directly to what he describes as the association’s mismanagement. In an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Fianoo did not mince words, stating, “The system at the GFA has crashed, and change is overdue. Together with GHALCA, I will soon lead an impeachment process against Kurt Okraku to restore integrity and accountability to our football,” he stated.

Central to Fianoo’s grievances is a perceived lack of transparency within the GFA, particularly in financial management. This issue has been a lightning rod for criticism, with many stakeholders expressing concerns over how funds are allocated and managed.

The announcement has sparked widespread debate and has drawn attention to the internal dynamics within the GFA. Many are now questioning whether the current leadership can address these concerns or if a change is indeed necessary. The potential impeachment process led by Fianoo could serve as a catalyst for broader reforms within the association, potentially reshaping the landscape of Ghanaian football.
