Majeed Ashimeru makes cut as Chris Hughton drops 25-man squad for AFCON qualifiers

Newly appointed Gaffer for the Black Stars of Ghana, Chris Hughton has released a list of twenty five players to represent the Black Stars in their upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola.

After his appointment, the Ghanaian born and former coach for English Premier League side, Brighton and Hove Albion is set to have his first game officially in charge of the Ghanaian senior national team, the Black Stars.

Missing out on the national team call up for the Qatar world cup in 2022, Majeed Ashimeru who plays as a midfielder in the Belgian professional league for Anderlecht has been included in Chris Hughton’s 25-man squad.

The player who has been directly involved in 2goals and 3 assists is poised to prove to Ghanaians why his exclusion in the world cup squad became a topical issue.

Below are the squad list

Goal keepers; Lawrence Ati Zigi, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen and Joseph Wollacot

Defenders : Tariq Lamptey, Denis Odoi, Gideon Mensah, Patrick Kpozo, Daniel Amartey, Joseph Aidoo, Mohammed Salisu and Alexander Djiku.

Midfielders : Thomas Partey, Majeeed Ashimeru, Abdul Salis Samed and  Edmund Addo

Wingers :Jordan Ayew, Osman Bukari, Joseph Paintsil, kamal Deen Sulemana and Ransford-Yeboah

Forwards: Mohammed Kudus, Andre Ayew, Kamal Sowah, Inaki Williams and Antoine Semenyo
