Manchester United football club came from behind to beat Southampton on Thursday January 16, 2025 by 3-1 at the Old Trafford due to Amad Diallo’s brilliant performance.
43 minutes into the first half, Southampton’s Mateus Fernandez swung in the ball from a corner kick, which deflected off the body of Manchester United’s Manuel Ugarté and diverted into the net to put the Saints up before halftime.
In the 82nd minute, Manchester United got the leveller after Joshua Zirkzee drove the ball out wide with Amad Diallo running into the area and put it past the goalkeeper into the left-bottom corner from a rebound of his previous shot.
Eight minutes after restoring priority, Amad Diallo scored his second goal after Christian Erikson’s sensational pass got into the box. He increased his goal tally to three after picking a loose ball from Harwood-Bellis and slotting it into the empty net.
Amad Diallo’s hat trick has propelled Manchester United from 14th to 12th position on the league table.
