Ghanaian born French football legend, Marcel Desailly, has tipped the Black Stars as a surprise package for AFCON 2019.
“In the previous Africa Cup of Nation, we were really hoping to win it because we were one of the favourites, and you can see nothing happened really,” he said in an interview with GTV.
“But this time, the fact that we are not one of the favourites allow you to, you know, to work in a better way to be able, probably to be one of the surprise of this tournament,” he disclosed.
“I’m confident that they can be a surprise,” he added.

Ghana went top of group F as Cameroon and Benin played to a 0-0 draw. As a result of winning the group on goal difference, four-time champions Ghana, who had drawn their opening two games, will face Tunisia in Ismailia on Monday.
