Ghana Premier League Champions Medeama SC were walked over by a formidable Al Ahly side at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by 1-0.

The Yellow and Mauve boys were in for a big win in order to boost their chances of qualifying for the knockout stage.

Medeama started the game in a strong fashion as they stood up to the test thrown at them by the men from Egypt as they created numerous big chances in the first half but failed to capitalise on any. Their efforts in the first half couldn’t generate any useful results heading into the second half.

The second half took a different turn as the away side came to the fore in the 48th minute when Hussein El Shahat capitalised on a brilliant attack with a superb finish, making sure his teammate Anthony Modeste’s pass was put to perfect use.

After going down in the early minutes of the second half, Medeama tried all means possible to get back into the game, but a very strong Al Ahly side weren’t ready to breakdown their line, inviting any upset on their side.

The Ghanaian Champions face a heavy task ahead as they will be keeping an eye on the game between the Young Africans and CR Belouizdad to measure their chances of any possible qualification to the knockout stage.
