Michael Essien, a former Ghanaian football star, has achieved another milestone after his playing career by earning a UEFA certificate in football management. Essien, known for his powerful play in clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid, has been working hard to gain coaching and management skills. This new certificate adds to his growing list of qualifications.
Essien spent several months on the intense program, which included online classes and three in-person sessions. After completing it, he shared his excitement on social media, saying, “Finally done with my UEFA certificate in football management journey. Thanks all for the help. I keep learning about the beautiful game.”
Essien is currently using his new skills as a talent coach for FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark’s top league, where he guides young players with his experience and knowledge.
His successful career started in France with Bastia, then moved to Olympique Lyonnais. His talent caught the eye of Chelsea in England, where he helped the team win several league titles and a Champions League trophy. Later, Essien played for top teams like Real Madrid and AC Milan, earning worldwide respect as a midfield maestro.
