Ghana’s winger, Mohammed Kudus is the latest player of the Black Stars to pen an apology after an abysmal performance at the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Even though Ghana performed abysmally at the tournament, Kudus made an impact on his debut.
He scored a brace in the 2-2 draw against Egypt and won a penalty in the final group match against Mozambique in Ebimpe.
The West Ham Star was also adjudged the Man of the Match in both games he featured in but his efforts could not help Ghana survive the tournament.
However, he regrets not meeting the hopes of Ghanaians and takes full responsibility.
“To the heart & soul of Ghana. Falling short at my debut AFCON 23 is a hard reality we face together but as a playing body, we take full responsibility.”
“We deeply regret not meeting your hopes this time. Your enduring support is our motivation to strive in commitment to making you proud in the future” He said.
Ghana exited the ongoing 2023 AFCON tournament with 2 points having drawn 2-2 against Egypt and Mozambique respectively and lost 1-2 to Cape Verde in the opening game of Group B.
