Mohammed Kudus, a star player for West Ham United and Ghana’s Black Stars, has been nominated for the prestigious FIFA Puskas Award for his stunning solo goal against Freiburg in the Europa League.

In the match, Kudus displayed extraordinary skill, dribbling past several Freiburg players from his own half before scoring with his weaker foot. The remarkable effort, scored in the quarter-finals of the competition, was also named West Ham’s Goal of the Season.

Kudus joins a list of top talents vying for the award, including African players Paul Onuachu from Nigeria, Dennis Omedi from Uganda, and Yassine Benzia from Algeria.

Other nominees include Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United for his overhead kick against Everton, Qatar’s Hassan Al Haydos, Inter Milan’s Federico DiMarco, Australia’s Terry Antonis, Argentina’s Walter Bou, Honduras’ Michaell Chirinos, and Hull City’s Jaden Philogene.

The winner will be revealed at the FIFA Awards in January 2025.
