The Ghana Police service has arrested suspect Seidu Musah in connection with the attack on former Black Stars Coach, Maxwell Konadu.
The Nsoatreman head coach was attacked on Sunday, November 19, 2023 during his side’s Ghana premier league match week 11 encounter against Boafakwa Tano. His side played a 1:1 draw against the newly promoted Boafakwa Tano at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
Some match officials were also threatened, but it was coach Maxwell Konadu who found himself at the wrong side of the attack which got him hospitalised.
Maxwell Konadu has since been discharged from the Sunyani Regional Hospital following that bizarre incident.
After the arrest of the suspect, the police confirmed in a statement that they are still investigating and on a search for the rest of the suspects.
Bofoakwa Tano has also received a ban on the use of the Coronation Park as their home grounds in the Premier League.
The Ministry of Youth and Sport through a press statement, publicly condemned the attack and called out the Ghana Football Association and all other football stakeholders in the country to prioritise the safety of players in Ghana.
