The first half of the game was a tense affair, with both teams showcasing their defensive prowess, ensuring that the score remained level. Real Madrid, with their star-studded lineup, demonstrated their tactical discipline, while Dortmund, known for their dynamic and youthful squad, posed a constant threat on the counterattack. The anticipation grew as the clock ticked towards halftime, with neither side managing to break the deadlock.

The breakthrough finally came in the 74th minute when Real Madrid’s right-back, Dani Carvajal, found the back of the net. Carvajal’s goal was a result of a well-executed cross from Toni Kross, highlighting the intricate passing and movement that Real Madrid is renowned for. The Spanish side’s experience in handling high-pressure situations was evident as they absorbed Dortmund’s attacks, waiting for the right moment to exploit any gaps left by their opponents.

That moment arrived in the 83rd minute when Vinícius Júnior, the Brazilian sensation, doubled Real Madrid’s lead.
