Ghana’s Richard Commey has been dethroned as world champion after losing his IBF world lightweight belt to Teofimo Lopez.
Commey was stopped in round two by the American boxer on Saturday night, December 14, 2019, at the famous Madison Square Garden,
The Ghanaian dictated the pace of the fight in round one as he landed the clean shots.
In the second round, Commey mounted pressure on Lopez and he was caught with a counter punch which dropped.
He got on his feet but Lopez mounted pressure on him forcing the referee to wave off the fight.
